James was about 34-35 years old when he began his career in the automotive industry. He was a retired military vet who wasn't looking to go back into the workforce any time soon. A friend of James convinced him to try car sales, he raved about the amount of wealth James could obtain. He took his friend's advice and started out at a small Chevy store. This is where he took the opportunity to learn from the GM and GSM of the dealership who later became his mentors. James made sure he asked questions and sat in meetings to gain competence in the business. He also spoke about some of the humbling situations he had to put himself in to become one of the best. James also talks about his transition from being on the showroom floor to the internet department. He mentioned the challenges he faced learning a new department and how he adapted with change. This podcast gives you a perspective into the business. It doesn't matter what background you came from, there is an opportunity for everyone.
